New Wine-Flavored Braising Sauces for Autumn Comfort Cooking

New for autumn from Williams-Sonoma: Braising sauces made with wine! We throw a lot of parties here in Woodinville, and cook for a lot of people. We’re mourning the impending loss of summer, but also we’re eager to get back into our kitchens and cook up some comfort foods for our friends and families.

Carrie is a vegetarian and so won’t likely be using these at all, but Jen is eager to get into the kitchen and cook up yummy dishes with these sauces! Now, given enough advance notice and prep time, we’d make our own sauces using Woodinville wines from our favorite wineries. But sometimes life gets busy and you need a shortcut or two. That’s why we keep our pantries stocked with delicious gourmet sauces, just in case!

The Chardonnay braising sauce is meant for chicken. Use it with chicken thighs, and cook it either in your oven or in your slow cooker.

The Cabernet braising sauce uses Cabernet Sauvignon and port wine. It was created to be used on short ribs, then finished in your slow cooker or your oven.
