The Last Rosé of Summer

Tonight is likely my last party in my Woodinville backyard for this year. It’s getting colder, and beginning to rain, so I must move my parties indoors for the foreseeable future. I’m dreading putting away my beloved outdoor furniture!

Several friends are coming over later to eat pizza and watch a movie (“The Breakfast Club,” since we’re feeling nostalgic for the 1980s.) It’s a bit smoky in my backyard, but still warm enough tonight that I dare serve my last bottle of Rosé. I picked it up earlier this week at a tasting at Gorman Winery in Woodinville.

The “Rosey 2016” wine from Gorman Winery tastes so much like cherries, I wish I’d bought more than one bottle! It will honestly be difficult to share this with my guests. That’s why I poured myself a glass already while I get ready for the party to start. (I’ll of course offer red wines and other bottles from Gorman!)

I’m glad I can say goodbye to summer and to my beautiful backyard entertaining space tonight with this last Rosé of summer!
