A Quick Sunny Day Visit to Woodhouse Wine Estates to Taste Wine and Enjoy the Sunshine

You know those rainy late-winter weeks where suddenly you get a surprise sunny day on a weekend? When it’s still cold (in the 50’s) but the sun makes up for it and you bundle up and rush out to enjoy the sunshine? My friend Rebecca and I hurried over to The Woodhouse Wine Estates here in Woodinville on a recent surprise sunny Saturday to taste wine.

This was Rebecca’s second wine tasting stop ever in Woodinville, so I was thinking through our options – I wanted to take her somewhere with delicious wine, nice people, and a patio or at least doors thrown open wide to let the sun stream in. The Woodhouse Wine Estates fit all my criteria perfectly, and we headed over there to a warm reception from Dee and her staff.

As our designated driver, I didn’t want to indulge in a second full tasting, so while Rebecca was served her tastes and was being educated about Woodhouse’s wines, I opted for just a glass pour of their addictive Picnic wine.

It was a festive atmosphere, with sun-deprived locals sitting out on the patio or clustered around wine barrel tables enjoying wine and Woodhouse’s snacks. There was nice music playing, but not so loud we couldn’t chat or hear the tasting stewards’ information about the wines.

Dee came over and reminded us that Woodhouse Wine Estates has Happy Hours on Wednesdays, with live music.

We had to leave much too early to be sure Rebecca could get home to relieve her babysitter. I opted for purchasing a bottle of their Picnic wine to enjoy at home later that afternoon, and Rebecca took home a bottle of a red wine she’d enjoyed here.

Next time we have a sunny day in Woodinville, we highly recommend heading out to The Woodhouse Wine Estates (which has ample parking by the way!) to enjoy their patio and tasting room!
