Enjoying Snacks At Davenport Cellars In Between Wine Tastings

This is the face of a man who would really, really appreciate a beer right about now! Alas for my poor boyfriend Bob, he had kindly agreed to be my driver on a recent Saturday.

I’ve been wanting to check out more of the Woodinville Warehouse District tasting rooms. Most of them are only open on weekends, and limited hours at that, so it’s been more difficult to explore than the Hollywood District.

After tasting wine at Kevin White Winery, I was a bit hungry for snacks, so we headed over to visit the nice people at Davenport Cellars. The warehouse district was buzzing with people, but there was still plenty of parking outside Davenport and we were easily able to snag a table for two in their spacious restaurant/tasting room. Bob was disappointed there wasn’t a beer available, but I reminded him we were in a wine tasting room, and promised to take him to a brewery later in the day! He settled for a Sprite.

I was delighted to see Nancy Croisier helping out behind the Davenport Cellars counter on this occasion. Not only is she super friendly and fun to chat with, she knows a lot about wine. I was also glad to see one of the owners on site, Sheila, so I could introduce Bob to her.

I know I had just been wine tasting, but after remembering how delicious the R.H.D. wine is here at Davenport, I couldn’t resist ordering a glass to accompany my snacks. After all, I had a designated driver to graciously ferry me around!

I’d warned Bob how addictive the wine chips were. He smelled Chef Anne Marie’s amazing Gorgonzola dipping sauce and dipped right in before I could take a photo of the pristine plate! (He sort of got in trouble for that for a second!)

I ordered the very reasonably priced Bread and Oil plate, which we immediately scarfed down. I’m a bit of an amateur bread baker at home, but have purposely not tried to learn how to make this type of bread. We’d gain too much weight if I could make it on demand!

I couldn’t resist ordering the Mediterranean olives, which come with crackers.

That was the perfect snack to hold us over through my next wine tasting and until we could get to a brewery for dinner and Bob’s promised beer!

Davenport Cellars is open Friday: 2-7pm; Saturday: 11:30am-5pm; and Sunday: 11:30am-5pm.

It’s located in the warehouse district, at:

19495 144th Ave NE
Suite A-160
Woodinville, WA 98072
