If you are working from home this week and can sneak out for an hour or so to taste wine, or if you have Mondays off, you have a nice variety of tasting rooms in Woodinville you could visit. I love tasting wine in Woodinville on Mondays because it’s easier to find parking, far less crowded, and you get a lot more time with the tasting room staff.
(Wineries are taking precautions and sanitizing their employees’ hands, counters, doors, wine glasses, bottles, etc. and encouraging people to go ahead and come out. If you aren’t in a high risk group, I definitely recommend coming out to wine country despite the current coronavirus panic).
Not every winery/tasting room in Woodinville is open on Mondays. Business in Artisan Hill and the Warehouse District is just too slow. So we’ll focus our Monday wine tasting exploration mostly on the Hollywood District which has our bigger, busier, more likely to be open tasting rooms.
*NOTE* Please call or check each winery’s social media accounts for their current hours before getting in your car to go visit. I’m making this post as accurate and up to date (for March 2020) as I can, but things change and I don’t want you to arrive to a chosen tasting room and be disappointed if they happen to be closed that particular Monday.
The famed and beloved Chateau Ste. Michelle is open daily, from 10 am to 5 pm. Now might be your chance to indulge in one of their winery experiences or sign up for one of their evening events.
You can visit Columbia Winery daily and it’s so easy to find parking here!
Make a reservation for a seated tasting at DeLille Cellars (but as a single person walk-in, you’re likely to not have trouble getting a table). They’re open at 11 am and their last seating is at 4:30 pm.
Novelty Hill Januik is open daily – such a gorgeous space to taste wine in!
Before you leave the West Valley District, stop by Isenhower Cellars – they’re open Mondays noon to 5 pm; and nearby, Basel Cellars is open Mondays noon to possibly 7 pm. And we can’t neglect to mention one of our top favorite tasting rooms, Cascade Cliffs – open Mondays noon to 7 pm.
In the center of the Hollywood District, Maryhill Winery’s Woodinville tasting room is open daily, opening either at 11 am or 11:30 am (see their website for details).
Downstairs, Alexandria Nicole Cellars is open Mondays from 11 am to 5 pm.
Bookwalter Winery is likely open on Mondays, but check since their website doesn’t say so for sure.
In the same parking lot as Bookwalter and Maryhill, Market Vineyards is reportedly open Mondays noon to 5 pm.
Across the street in the Redwood Place strip mall, you’ll find Ryan Patrick and Milbrandt closed but Airfield Estates will be open Mondays 11 am to 5 pm; Darby Winery (next to Village Wines) is open from 1 pm to 6 pm; Goose Ridge is open from 11 am to 6 pm (and they have cider as well as wine!) and the esteemed Long Shadows opens on Mondays between the hours of noon and 5 pm. Chandler Reach is open on Mondays from noon through 6 pm.
In the Hollywood Vineyards strip mall near Purple Cafe and The Commons, you’ll find Panther Creek open on Mondays (it’s tucked around the back and easy to find with their vibrant red doors). Their neighbor Lachini Vineyards is open Mondays from noon to 5:30 pm. You’ll find Tinte Cellars open from noon to 6 pm and aMaurice opens from noon to 5 pm. Stroll into Dusted Valley between noon and 5 pm; and you can taste Red Mountain wines at Fidelitas on Mondays starting at 11 am. One of the only three wine clubs I joined in Woodinville is Sparkman Cellars, and they’re open noon to 5 pm on Mondays. And the hip happening Mark Ryan Winery tasting room is open daily til 5 pm.
At the yellow house, Brian Carter Cellars is open noon to 5 pm on Mondays.
Cave B Estate Winery is open for a few hours on Mondays – 2 pm through 6 pm (the same hours as their neighbor Cougar Crest!) Forgeron Cellars next door is open on Mondays as well (12 pm to 6 pm).
Over in the Apple Farm Village, Guardian Cellars is open Mondays from noon to 5 pm; Obelisco Estate is open Mondays from 1 pm to 5 pm as is Lauren Ashton Cellars; Torii Mor is open Mondays 12 pm to 5 pm; and Zerba Cellars is open Mondays noon to 5 pm as well.
Next to Vivi Pizzeria, Gorman Winery and Patterson Cellars are vibrant tasting rooms that are open Mondays from noon through 7 pm.
The beautiful and chic Matthews Winery tasting room is open Mondays from noon to 5 pm, and has plenty of parking.
Over in the Gateway District, Avennia Cellars is open on Mondays (open daily 11 am to 5 pm).
After you visit Avennia, you could head up the hill to The Junction where you can visit Gard Vintners (12 noon to 5 pm).
