Visiting Bayernmoor Cellars for a Wandering Afternoon Wine Tasting

Bayernmoor tasting room

Bayernmoor tasting room

We have been really loving our visits to Woodin Creek Village and were very excited to go wine tasting at Bayernmoor Cellars. This tasting room is absolutely gorgeous, and the staff was amazing. With a full kitchen and full-time chef, Torie Barr , the menu is designed to pair perfectly with the wine offerings.

Here at Bayernmoor, you have the option to select many different wine tasting options. You can opt for a traditional wine flight, a wine and food pairing (changes seasonally, so check back often), or glass and bottle pours.

Bayernmoor woodinville tasting room

I really love the design and furnishings of this tasting room, is it all at once warm, inviting, and totally aesthetically pleasing! Owners Kim and Larry Harris have done an incredible job with this space. There is an expansive outdoor patio that wraps around the corner space, and gives you plenty of people (and dog) watching opportunities. Inside the tasting room, you will find seating in these plush sofas and lounge chairs, and at tables.

Here at the bar, you will often find the friendly tasting room staff ready to tell you more about the Europen-style wines crafted under the guidance of consulting winemaker, Brian Carter. While Bayernmoor offers a mostly Pinot Noir portfolio of wines, their also have Carbernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Rose.  Many of these grapes are grown at the Bayernmoor Estate in Stanwood, Washington, which is very intriguing!

Bayernmoor Cellars wine awards

The Estate Pinot Noir is a fan favorite and winner of multiple gold awards.

Bayernmoor Cellars rose

I loved the gorgeous coral color of this 50% Mourvèdre/50% Grenache Rose, with notes of strawberries, guava, and peach. The palate is very similar, with a touch of sweetness. This 2019 was sourced from Horse Heaven Hills vineyard and was my favorite of the three Rose releases. It had notes and flavors of strawberries and watermelon and nice acidity. I was able to purchase a 3 bottle pack of 2018, 2019, and 2020 Roses which made for a fabulous versatile tasting at home with friends.

Bayernmoor Cellars Pinot Noir Precoce

This 2018 Precoce Pinot Noir was a lighter, very food-friendly, and fruit-forward Pinot compared to others in the tasting lineup. I think this would be amazing paired with fig, arugula, and Proscuitto pizza.

Bayernmoor Cellars food

Here is a shot of the delectable mushroom empanada and the roast duck crostini with fried sage leaf that we paired with our Pinot Noir tastings. The empanada was so incredible that I legitimately would have ordered a platter full of them and eaten just those for my dinner! Chef Torie is whipping up some noteworthy creations in the Bayernmoor kitchen.

This 777 clonal selection Pinot Noir from the Bayernmoor Estate was my favorite of the lineup. It is rich, and bolder than the Precoce and had the most stunning ruby color in the glass. On the nose, I picked up notes of vanilla, cranberry and cherry with a palate that had hints of strawberry and baking spices. A lovely Washington State Pinot!

Shone at Bayernmoor Cellars

Shona and I had a fabulous time sipping wine on this patio! We were on the quiet side, which was so peaceful!

I have revisited Bayernmoor Cellars a few times since my initial wine tasting there and sampled more of the food offerings and the wine. I would highly recommend this winery to you both for the delicious food and wines and the location. Here in Woodin Creek Village, there is ample free parking on the street and in the parking garages. I think that makes things so much easier when planning a trip to Woodinville Wine Country!

Also worth noting is that Bayernmoor is open Wednesday through Friday from 1-7 pm, making it a nice place to stop after work with slightly later hours. Saturday they are open from 12-7 pm and Sunday from 12-5 pm.

Reservations are not required, but for your best Woodinville wine tasting experience, we highly recommend booking one, here!

Enjoy your visit to Bayernmoor Cellars!

Cheers ~ Jen
