Exploring Zerba Cellars at the Apple Farm Village

Last week we decided to explore the Apple Farm Village. Carrie drives by it every day and her curiosity needed to be satisfied finally!

Several tasting rooms share a beautifully landscaped patio and courtyard. We’ll have to come back here soon to try more of the other tasting rooms.

We were delighted at how much open and free parking there was. Of course, it was a weekday not a busy Woodinville wine tasting weekend!

Our first stop was at Zerba Cellars.

They’re an Oregon winery with vineyards in Walla Walla Valley.

We were greeted by the tasting room steward’s friendly poodle, Chivas. Can’t wait to bring Carrie’s flatcoat retrievers to check out this dog friendly tasting room!

Wine Press Northwest named Zerba Cellars their Pacific Northwest Winery of the Year for 2011.

We started the tasting with their delightful viognier.

Other wines in the tasting included Zerba’s Dolcetto (which means “sweet little wine” in Italian), Grenache Rose, and their Estate Red.

We sat at the high top tables while our hostess helped other customers, including a couple of ladies with a well-behaved toddler in tow. Apparently this is not only just a dog-friendly tasting room, but a kid-friendly one too!

We both bought a Grenache Rose to take to our homes and serve on a hot summer evening.

There’s plenty of room for small groups of wine tasters to sit and enjoy!

Chivas greeted everyone else who came in, while we admired the wood furnishings and artwork and read promo posters on upcoming Woodinville wine events.

We paused by the wine stock to select more bottles to purchase for our upcoming parties.

It was hard not to buy all of these heavenly smelling candles! (We’re trying not to be such shopaholics!)

I gifted a bottle of Zerba Cellars’ wine to my cousin the next day and she loved it.

The chairs , decor and furnishings in this tasting room are primarily recycled bottle & barrel art from Arlington, Washington.

Of course the chairs are marked with a Z!

We paused to check out Zerba Cellars’ list of wine awards.

Zerba Cellars kindly lets local artists hang art for sale on their walls. I ended up buying a beautiful lilac watercolor – I’ll update this post when I find the artist’s name and card!
