Keeping Our New Year’s Resolutions With a Healthy Lunch at Purple Cafe

This week I met my friend Serret (from Serretabella Images) for a healthy lunch, followed by some wine tasting. Too rainy to garden, hike or walk around shopping at outdoor malls, so we thought wine tasting in Woodinville would make a great consolation prize for our afternoon off! We thought Purple Cafe would be a great jumping off point for our afternoon adventures.

We split their delicious wild mushroom tart, worried that it will soon disappear from the seasonal menu.

For her lunch, Serret ordered their Purple Chopped salad, and found out they are happy to adjust and customize it.

This version came with lots of just perfectly ripe avocados – a nice healthy green-tasting treat in the middle of winter!

Trying to eat healthier, I made myself try something new instead of a veggie burger with fries. Instead, I ordered the Vegetable and Grain Bowl. I’m not usually a fan of squash or kale, but surprised myself by eating every last bite of delicata squash, and all my kale!

As a vegetarian, I need to watch my protein intake, so I was glad this salad came with a poached egg on top.

It was really difficult for us not to order something to drink off of Purple Cafe’s extensive and well-curated wine menu. Since we were about to go wine tasting, though, we wisely stuck with iced tea.

This is a lovely place for ladies to lunch in Woodinville (but don’t let that stop you from coming to their weekend brunches, or wonderful evening dinners!)
