A Sunny Afternoon Visit to Lachini Vineyards Woodinville Tasting Room

Lachini Vineyards tasting room in Woodinville has been calling to us all winter long, with its cheerful patio and great location! Recently, we stopped in for a tasting of their Willamette Valley wines and we had a great experience. They are located in the Hollywood District, adjacent to Purple Café and The Commons Restaurant.

In 2001, owners Ron and Marianne Lachini founded their family-owned estate vineyard in Newberg Oregon, focusing on producing “ultra premium, single vineyard” Pinot Noir wines. Their grapes are sourced from the Lachini Estate Vineyard in the Chehalem Mountains, La Cruz Vineyard from the Sonoma Coast and Red Mountain AVA, Quintessence Vineyard.

The tasting room is bright, people friendly and is also dog friendly. We were excited to have an opportunity to chat with Ron and learn about the passion behind the Lachini brand. He graciously posed with us in a photo, but it seems I had broken my camera lens that day (sorry Ron!) and I could not use the shot. This gives us yet another reason to return for an additional wine tasting though, new lens in tow!

The first wine that we tasted was the 2016 Pinot Gris, a delicious white that Carrie and I purchased to take home with us.  I remember aromatics of green apple, and a very refreshing feel as I sipped.  I think this would pair well with grilled fish or a salad that includes grapefruit and chicken. Another one that stood out to us from the tasting menu was the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon La Bestia, which we thought tasted like berries.

I particularly love the variety of seating and tables at Lachini and the cozy atmosphere. They offer both bottle and glass pours, and are open until 8:30 PM Friday and Saturday evenings.  This is helpful when you are driving here to after grabbing dinner at Purple Café or the Commons.

We chatted about the Lachini wine lineup with tasting room associate Jordan, who was expecting his first nephew!  We love the friendly hosts that we meet at Woodinville wineries, and always appreciate it when we can feature their photos on our blog. Thanks Jordan!

What do you think of these boxed sets? I would love to give one as a gift.

Sunny and filled with light, this is a space that feels very inviting to me.  Heaters line the patio to keep guests warm on chilly evenings. I’m picturing myself in front of these open bay doors with a glass of Rosé, as the Seattle area weather continues to heat up!

The Lachini Vineyards 2018 Rosé release party is coming up on April 21! RSVP to Lachini at (425) 489-9917 to enjoy their delicious wine and freshly shucked oysters, steamed clams and mussels, Dungeness Crab chowder and fried chicken prepared by PEARL seafood and oyster bar’s, Bradley Dickinson.

The Wine Club at Lachini Vineyards offers several options, allowing you to receive shipments two to three times per year, and the ability to customize your selections, if that is the club option that you choose.

Bottles of various sizes are available for purchase in the Woodinville tasting room.  I think the family size bottle in a gift box would make an excellent addition to a special event or party.

The tasting lineup, included 2015 Pinot Port! I always get excited to taste decadent dessert wines, and this one had notes of cherries, a smooth texture and hints of spices.  My favorite of this lineup however, was the  2015 Cuvee Giselle, named for the owners’ daughter.

I loved the wine themed candles that were available!  The glass jars were so pretty, and they smelled wonderful.

The Woodinville Tasting room is open Mon 12-6pm, Thurs 2 – 7pm,  Fri & Sat 11:30am – 8:30pm and Sunday 11:30am – 6:00pm
