Breakfast at Cave B Resort

We took a recent vacation to Cave B Inn near Quincy, Washington. This beautiful hotel overlooks the Columbia River Gorge. On the morning we were due to leave, Carrie suggested ordering room service breakfast to her Cavern Room.

Imagine admiring this stunning view while enjoying your breakfast! We were there on a Tuesday and were treated to the sight of some F-15s from Portland overflying the Gorge as part of a regular training mission.

We snuck over to neighboring patios, hoping the rooms weren’t occupied, and dragged over a few more iron chairs so Jen’s girls could join us for breakfast too.

Our food arrived, along with a couple of orange juices we shared. It was such a treat to eat outdoors and get one last long glimpse of the beautiful Gorge. It truly felt like heaven on Earth.

Jen’s oldest girl, Claire, ordered bagels and lox.

Her younger girl, Natalie, was excited to eat French toast.

Jen ordered two eggs, hash browns and toast.

Carrie was hungry for a mushroom omelette, and eager for the hash brown potatoes.

We thoroughly enjoyed our room service breakfast overlooking the Gorge, but felt bad that two hotel employees had to painstakingly carry these down the hill through the vineyard on trays, on a hot morning. We’d assumed they would drive the food over in a golf cart! Next time we’ll walk up for breakfast at the restaurant, Tendrils, to save them the trouble.
