Canned Wine and Single Serve Snacks For Safe Patio Entertaining

We have been working hard at finding safe ways to enjoy Woodinville wine at home safely. With today’s announcement from Governor Jay Inslee, we know that dining inside restaurants is not an option nor are indoor gatherings that combine more than one household for the next four weeks. Right now as we do our part to reduce transmission of Covid-19, we will stick to outdoor gatherings (limited to 5 from outside your household) with safe distancing when we need to limit isolation.  At my house, our patio space will allow for up to four people.

I know I have been struggling with how to safely share a small plate and a glass of wine with a friend outdoors lately.  My teenagers have been super lonely and missing their friends also. As I worked to find solutions, I decided to stock up on these cute Fruit and Flower canned wines (from Chateau Ste Michelle’s Elicit Wine Project) as well as some delicious single serve snack items that you can conveniently find on Amazon Fresh.

One of the ideas I had here at home was to buy a few cozy, easy to wash throw blankets and tasty wine pairing snacks like these small snacking plates from Hillshire. I made a deal with my kids: they could have 2 friends over, and they could sit 6 feet apart, outside on our covered porch. We decided that each family member in our house can have their own night to host a small gathering on the patio.

I picked up several of these warm fleece throw blankets so that we will all be cozy when sitting outside in this cold weather. These are easy to wash and keep sanitized. We will turn on our patio heater, and be good to go.

I know these stainless steel propane patio heaters are a bit of a luxury item, but in the winter we still enjoy sitting in the fresh air. Given our current safe distancing requirements, it is a necessity.

Another easy snack option that I found were these hummus and pretzel cups.  Perfect vegetarian option!  These were gone almost instantly at my house.

There so many creative ways to stay safe and healthy while sipping wine and snacking with a friend or two on your patio this right now.  We will definitely be enjoying a glass or two of Woodinville wine outside this week.
