Stopping by Matthews Winery in Autumn

We stopped by Matthews Winery recently without a reservation, just to check things out and see what’s going on with one of our favorite local wineries. We admired the tent setup and heaters, and peeked inside at the festive holiday decorations. Since we didn’t have a reservation, we didn’t ask to do a tasting, and we just checked out the setup and current tasting flight menu.

We’d been eating outdoors and doing wine tastings outdoors in Woodinville earlier that day, so here I am bundled up in layers of luxurious black velvet under my hideous “dog park” down coat. I maybe didn’t look fashionable, but I was nice and cozy for our adventures. Everybody wants wine influencers to be authentic, so here I am in my grubby coat for you to have a small chuckle at!

We have a new lady working with us here at Woodinville Wine Blog – my cousin Kaiti. She’s an artist, a computer whiz, and a Krav Maga instructor. She’s new to wine and we love showing her around our favorite winery spots in Woodinville.

We stopped just briefly to take this pic, but Kaiti and I looked like we were friendly greeters! Should anyone have driven up at that moment, we would have felt obligated to welcome them to Matthews!

Now that wineries are closed for indoor seating for the time being, we can only enjoy Matthews Winery’s legendary festive decorations if we pop in to buy or pick up wine!

I looked longingly at the beautiful wintry Matthews Winery Christmas tree. Someday we’ll be able to dance in this spot again on Friday nights. Someday!

Take a look at Matthews Winery’s wine shop – perhaps you’d like to purchase a few bottles for your Christmas or winter holiday celebrations? My personal favorite is Blackboard Red Wine.
