A Delightful Lunch at Vivi Pizzeria’s Sunny Patio

On a recent spring Sunday, my friend Bob and I spontaneously decided to go to lunch at Vivi Pizzeria in Woodinville.

The prospect of sitting in the sun on their beautiful outdoor patio surrounded by colorful flower planters was delightful.

A neighboring table awaited hungry diners.

I ordered a glass of “Abracadabra” from Brian Carter Cellars, remembering how nice it tasted last summer when I sampled it on their patio. (Note that “Vivi” means “drink” in Sicilian! So drink I did, quite obediently!)

I was relieved to see they also offer beer – Bob is more of a beer guy and I wouldn’t want him ordering wine instead just to be polite here in Woodinville Wine country!

The menu offers several tempting salads and pastas, but I can never resist a wood-fired pizza, so took my time perusing those options. So hard to choose! Bob suggested we get share a 12″ pizza – a good size for two people. However, I didn’t want my vegetarianism to prevent him from enjoying a nice meaty pizza, so chose my own. Later, I was grateful to have a couple leftover slices to enjoy in the evening!

The Insalata Avocada was so fresh and delicious, with a generous portion of avocado. I might pop in sometime for lunch just to have this salad and a glass of wine!

Bob ordered the Prosciutto e Avocado pizza, which features tomato sauce, mozzarella, prosciutto, avocado, arugula, olives, and of course, Parmesan.

After a long inward debate about not simply ordering my usual margherita pizza, I chose the Vegetariana: Tomato sauce, mozzarella, artichoke hearts, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, garlic, and Parmesan.

Alas, after all that yummy pizza we were too full to even contemplate their gelato. But now that I know it’s here, I imagine I’ll be popping in for a quick gelato, next time I’m on a long, hot walk on the Sammamish River Trail.
