Jen and I wanted to meet up with another photographer to collaborate and plan future projects. Craving a whiskey milkshake, I suggested Hollywood Tavern. Away we went, although I came to my senses and realized I shouldn’t order a whiskey dessert drink during a business meal!
We looked longingly at the fireside Adirondack chairs outside, but it was still fairly chilly. Also, I always feel bad making a waiter or waitress wait on me outdoors if ours is the only seated party out there.
So after we finished taking our outdoor photos for this post and went inside, we were invited to choose our seat in the bar or dining room.
I’m always impressed by how friendly the host staff is at Hollywood Tavern.
This particular morning, we showed up around 11:30 to get a jump on the lunch crowd. Glad we did – it got a bit noisy later on. A cheerful, happy sort of noise though.
We got right down to work and ordered wine – you can’t really run a nice wine blog without imbibing, right? Red wine for Jen and white for me – both selected because the wines are showcased in nearby Woodinville tasting rooms.
It was cool enough outside that we were both tempted by the tomato bisque soup, paired with the tavern greens salad on the side. I added an iced tea for a workday caffeine boost!
We got a lot of chatting done, enjoyed our meal and the prompt and friendly service, and plotted to come back again soon for another workday lunch!
