Lunch at Vivi Pizza – Supporting Local Business During Coronavirus

Today my longtime friend Courtnee drove up from Tacoma for a visit. We decided we want to help local businesses, who are struggling from lack of customers due to the current coronavirus situation. We are under age 60 and healthy, so decided to venture out and patronize a local restaurant here in Woodinville. We’d bring food back for my boyfriend who is over 60 and supposed to stay home as much as possible.

Courtnee had never been to Vivi Pizzeria, and the smell of wood-fired pizza enticed us to go on in.

We took precautions, washing our hands in the bathroom thoroughly upon arrival – we knew we’d be eating pizza with our hands.

We know that Vivi Pizzeria and all the Woodinville restaurants and tasting rooms are taking precautions, not allowing sick employees to come to work, and sanitizing their surfaces thoroughly.

Visit the social media pages of the Woodinville restaurant you are thinking of eating at, for more info on the precautions they are taking to protect everyone and to institute social isolation.

The restaurant had a solo diner enjoying pizza in the window, a couple behind us, and a man and woman with their child, and us, during our late lunch. I’m really worried about our kind waitress, who needs more than four tables worth of tips this lunch shift!

Courtnee ordered the Spinach salad, which comes with both pears and strawberries.

My absolute favorite salad in the city is Vivi Pizzeria’s Insalata Avocado. There’s so much avocado on it!

Our wood fired pizzas were so delicious! I ordered the Pere pizza, with poached pears, walnuts and gorzonzola.

Courtnee isn’t vegan, but thought the Vegan pizza sounded perfect for today. This pizza features spinach, tomato, mushroom, artichoke, and roasted garlic oil – no cheese.

I took home the Quatro Carne pizza for my boyfriend, who comes home very hungry and tired after a long day at his job.

I can’t show you a picture of Courtnee because she purposely made goofy faces every time I whipped my camera out. So here’s a pic of me enjoying a glass of Rosé from Waterbrook Winery in Walla Walla.

(Vivi doesn’t carry a local Woodinville Rosé apparently, but you can likely order some from Patterson Cellars and Gorman Winery if you’re sitting outside on the patio in front of them).

Now even though this restaurant is in the middle of Woodinville wine country, they don’t neglect their beer drinking customers! Here’s their current list of beers on draft.

For now, our restaurants and small businesses remain open. I hope you will patronize them if you are comfortable leaving your home still. Many are working to perfect their delivery and curbside pickup programs.

If you’ve had a good experience with a restaurant in Woodinville recently, please let us know in the comments section below!
