When the Easter Bunny Brings You Sparkling Wine from Woodinville

Look what the Easter Bunny brought me on Easter Sunday! A selection of sparkling wines from Washington State and Oregon, purchased from Woodinville tasting rooms.

I made a mimosa bar for just myself and my boyfriend (we like everyone else are social distancing, of course). After a big breakfast and just one mimosa each, we went for a six mile walk at the Redmond Watershed Preserve, which is still open (for now). When we got back, we soaked in the hot tub, enjoyed another mimosa, took a long nap, and barely roused ourselves for suppertime.

This Brut sparkling wine from Washington is by Callan Cellars. This sparkling wine bottle from 2014 was made from 52% Chardonnay, 45% Pinot Noir and 3% Pinot Meunier.

Can you think of anything more fun to drink than sparkling rosé? This sparkling wine from Wit Cellars is called “Unleashed.” It was just released the week before Easter, and is made from 100% Syrah.

In the middle of the Easter basket, we have a sparkling wine from Oregon (the Willamette Valley, to be specific). The 2018 sparkling rosé from Lachini Vineyards is made with Pinot Noir and a little bit of Chardonnay.

The Elentone Brut was meant to be opened on New Year’s Eve, but we (sadly) fell asleep before midnight. So it’s made an appearance at our Easter table instead! Perhaps we’ll toast the winemaker at sundown in front of our bonfire tonight.
