Halloween 2020 Looks Different. Here is How You Can Celebrate at Home With Woodinville Wine!

If you’re like us and you have been scratching your head, trying to figure out ideas on how to safely celebrate Halloween this year, you realize it’s going to take a bit more creativity than usual! I know that in some areas, traditional trick-or-treating is not allowed and perhaps it might just not be your personal choice to partake this year. I know we have been conflicted on what to do in our family.

At my house for Halloween night we have carved our pumpkins (pics later!) and I have prepped small goodie bags to leave lined up on my porch in case some of the neighborhood children are still out in costumes. I have been watching my neighborhood Facebook page and it sounds like some families are planning to be out.  To prep my Halloween bags, I used gloves and wore a mask. I was very cautious with how I handled the items I placed in the the bags. While we will certainly miss the traditions, we can still celebrate as safely as possible this year.

For Carrie’s backyard autumn cabana reading nook set-up, we selected a few bottles of Woodinville wine from Story Cellars Winery (goes with our theme!) and also one from Simpatico Cellars. A simple selection of meats and cheese is a perfect wine pairing.

Because Carrie and I both love Halloween and have not done our usual activities, we felt out of sorts this year.  She is undergoing home renovations and was not able to place her decorations out because they may have been damaged during construction. I just didn’t pull it together enough to decorate as usual. Instead, we brainstormed to come up with an idea for how families might celebrate at home. Here is a picture of our backyard Halloween cabana/ reading nook. What do you think?

Now you may have children in your household and be planning to set out kid-friendly beverages, but let’s be real. We adult wine lovers need our own treats! We set up a bubbly table to go along with our backyard celebration. On Halloween, it’ll just beCarrie and her boyfriend and her Facebook Room virtual Halloween party, so she will somehow have to choose just one of these amazing sparkling wines from Elentone, Maryhill Winery, Callan Cellars or Patterson Cellars.

Are you also hosting a virtual Facebook or Instagram event? You can also try StreamYard, or Zoom if you want to stream any festivities. There are so many options for virtual gatherings these days.

I am really hoping that Carrie decides to do on online Halloween story reading from the cabana at her house in Woodinville. I love it when she hosts book readings! We had a fun time setting up this cabana. It provides the perfect place to relax and enjoy a glass of red wine, or maybe some mulled wine? Whatever she chooses to do, I know it will be fabulous.

We would love to hear what some our you are planning! Please drop us a comment below, or check out our other ideas on any of our other social media platforms, YouTube, Pinterest, Facebook and Instagram.
