Enjoying Wine in the Japanese Tea House at Zen Lakes

At our summertime wine party and photo shoot, Jen set out bottles of Woodinville white wine from Cave B Estate Winery and Tertulia Cellars in the charming Japanese teahouse on the grounds of Zen Lakes.

Guests wandering the spacious grounds at Zen Lakes could help themselves when they came to explore the teahouse. We knew the wine would get poured into guests’ glasses so quickly, we didn’t need to bother finding an ice bucket.

This marvelous lily pond is home to hundreds of bullfrogs. The property manager, Wren, said this is why there aren’t any mosquitos around the property. It was so nice to be able to stroll around the grounds and trails without being bitten or swarmed!

Here’s a view of the quaint wooden teahouse structure sitting perched among the lily pads.

You can read about the landscape designer, Terry Welch, in this 2001 Seattle Post-Intelligencer article.

The view from the teahouse is spectacular – you can see ponds, woods, forests, and beautiful old-growth trees. What a great way to relax and reflect and enjoy wine surrounded by nature!

We served Cavewoman White from Cave B Estate Winery and the 2017 Viognier from Tertulia Cellars.

Of the two white wines she sampled in the teahouse, Tanji’s favorite was the Cavewoman from Cave B Wine Estates.

Tanji and Harriet took their Woodinville white wine out to the teahouse (winehouse?) to enjoy in the sunshine. It’s unbelievably quiet and relaxing at the Zen Lakes property. We felt so grateful to be able to entertain our guests in such a fabulous location!
